Running for:
VP EDI
My platform:
Students' lived experiences should be front and center when critical decisions are made about us: I want this role to include creating seats at the table so every student feels that they can critique and contribute to MMSC and UGME EDI policies. That can look like establishing support systems like study groups for students from non-traditional backgrounds, as well as strong mutual connections with student projects that highlight inequities among both patients and practitioners who are racialized, disabled, part of the LGBTQ+ community, and more. I'm no stranger to student advocacy in the critical equity space, and I know it can take an assertive voice to get things done. I hope to be someone who can help you raise your voice on the issues that matter most to you, fighting for tangible change that can alter what McMaster -- and medicine overall -- looks like for the better :)
