Running for:
VP Indigenous Health
My platform:
I am running for VP of Indigenous Health because I want to contribute to a community in our medical school where Indigenous students feel supported, represented, and connected, while also creating a space where others also feel comfortable learning about Indigenous Health. I’ve seen firsthand the impact that people’s efforts to create an engaged, authentic community can have and want to further that here in our program. My platform will focus on working collaboratively with Indigenous students, faculty, Elders, and community partners in Hamilton and the Regional Campuses to strengthen Indigenous health education, build mentorship opportunities for Indigenous students, and create meaningful opportunities for all students. If chosen to serve as the VP of Indigenous Health, my goal will be to contribute to building a community that recognizes Indigenous Health as an integral part of medical education and supports students in their learning to become culturally safe and community-oriented physicians.
