My platform:
-Create a detailed list of ongoing EDIA initiatives and projects within the UGME program, including specific opportunities for students to get involved and the relevant contacts.
-Assist students in establishing partnerships with local community organizations working in EDIA in order to facilitate student-led initiatives that will lead to long term and meaningful impact that responds to community needs.
-Strengthen collaboration between interest groups and committees and develop practical EDI guidelines to support more inclusive programming and events.
-Facilitate communication between the VP EDIs and students by providing students with various ways to contact us directly or anonymously to share their concerns and experiences. -Introduce an ongoing feedback form for students to evaluate whether they feel heard and supported by the VP EDIs and whether our advocacy reflects their concerns.
-Collaborate with VP EDIs and EDI committees at medical schools across Canada to share strategies and strengthen collective advocacy within our institutions.
