VP EDI, VP Black Health
My platform:
-Facilitate regular communication and collaboration between MMSC and BMSA to address priorities affecting Black students and communities.
-Strengthen collaboration between BMSA and EDIA focused groups, particularly the EDI student committee, to support collective advocacy.
-Create educational workshops on Black health and facilitate opportunities for students to learn from Black physicians, researchers and community members.
-Highlight existing Black health projects and support students in developing new initiatives by connecting them with resources, faculty and community organizations.
-Integrate Black health perspectives into MMSC advocacy while also improving communication for students to share Black health concerns.
-Increase awareness and participation in the Best stream mock MMI to improve mentorship and support for prospective Black medical students.
