VP EDI
My platform:
My platform centres on moving EDIA-IR from principle to practice. I will audit council language, forms, and events to ensure inclusivity is embedded by default, not added as an afterthought, and institute longitudinal anti-oppressive training for all executives and staff throughout the term. Representation will mean real authority: EDIA representatives will co-design agendas and proposals from the outset, rather than reviewing decisions already shaped without them. Recognizing that no single positionality can speak for every community, I will build low-barrier channels for students across identities, disability, race, culture, class, and beyond, to flag where our efforts fall short, and ground initiatives in ongoing consultation rather than assumption. I will also hold this work accountable through concrete metrics: representation in leadership, uptake of accommodations, and whether EDIA proposals are actually implemented. My goal is a council where equity isn't self-declared, but measured by the people it's meant to serve.
