Running for:
VP Internal (Hamilton)

About me:
I was born and raised in London, Ontario, and attended Western, where I studied Health Sciences. I’m very family- and friend-oriented, and if I’m not working or studying, I’m spending time with the people I care about! One of my favourite family activities was attending a weekly trivia league, where we bonded over friendly competition. I have two dogs in London, Peggy the Pug and Wilson the Water-dog. I find joy in meeting new people and learning what they are passionate about. I love getting involved in all kinds of activities, whether that means getting out into nature, trying new restaurants, or travelling the world. You name it, I’ll probably have fun doing it! To me, it isn’t about the activity itself, but the energy you bring and the people you share it with. I want to create opportunities for everyone to share their passions and find their community.

My platform:
One of the greatest resources medical school provides is a network of passionate people with whom we can build relationships. I want to foster an environment where these connections can grow and every interest group can thrive. Over the past few years, I have acted as a recreation coordinator planning large events that bring people together, including Olympic-style competitions, game-show nights, community outings, and celebratory receptions. These experiences have taught me how to manage logistics and budgets, communicate effectively, and balance competing needs. As VPI Hamilton, I hope to use these skills to create opportunities for our class to connect, support interest groups in bringing their ideas to life, and build an inclusive community where everyone can participate. I would be honoured to strengthen our amazing C29 community and welcome the incoming C30s as warmly as we were.

How do you plan to ensure that EDI is integrated in your role(s)?
I will make Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion a foundation of how I approach every event. I will foster a culture of openness and curiosity, where everyone feels welcome sharing their traditions, interests, and ideas, even when they’re unfamiliar to others. I will encourage classmates to suggest and co-facilitate events that celebrate their cultures, communities, and passions. I also recognize that inclusion means offering options that accommodate different interests, comfort levels, schedules, and circumstances, rather than expecting everyone to participate in the same way. Most importantly, I will prioritize listening to my classmates. I will create clear and accessible opportunities for feedback, using my classmates’ input to adapt and improve our events. I want students to feel that they have a genuine role in shaping the social culture of our class. My goal is to build an environment where everyone feels welcome, represented, and empowered to share what makes them unique.
