Running for:
VP Internal (Niagara)

About me:
I use he/him pronouns; I am a first-gen immigrant from India, the son of two of the hardest-working people I know, and the brother of an amazing sister who continues to inspire me to learn and grow. I am from Brantford, ON, and did my undergrad in Health Sciences at Mac. I value open and welcoming communities that are committed to uplifting each of their members.

As a proud member of NRC, lucky to be surrounded by such a diverse and incredible group of people, I hope to work alongside you to build a community where everyone feels a sense of belonging and knows they have a voice. I am committed to being approachable and open to feedback, and to ensuring that your perspectives are heard and represented within the program. I’m looking forward to working with you all to make this year an awesome one!

My platform:
My dear NRC friends: I’ve had the greatest pleasure of getting to know each of you and experiencing the joy of building our community together over these past weeks. I’m running to be your VP Internal so we can carry this momentum forward and collectively build a welcoming, safe, and supportive community of learning. Building on the strong sense of community we have already, I also hope to create more opportunities to connect with students at other campuses and expand that community beyond NRC.

I want to be someone you can trust to represent your voices genuinely and ensure your opinions are heard by those who need to hear them. Additionally, I believe that creating a great learning environment means having opportunities to engage in educational and extracurricular activities that matter to you. I hope to help create more opportunities for you to get involved throughout the year.

How do you plan to ensure that EDI is integrated in your role(s)?
I hope to work closely with other members of MMSC, particularly the VPs of EDI, Indigenous Health, and Black Health, to continue my learning and create opportunities for learning and reflection within NRC. To help NRC foster a community of belonging and support where every student feels valued and heard, I would use multiple accessible avenues for students to share their thoughts, including anonymous feedback forms and private conversations. I would be dedicated to continually acting on feedback to improve myself and our community. Reflecting and acting on the community's interests and needs when planning events and initiatives would further this commitment.

Most importantly, I want every one of you to know that I will be in your corner: whether you need an additional voice in your advocacy, someone to listen to your concerns, or help navigating the resources available within our program, I will be there to support you.
